Service Learning: learning through community service

Service Learning: learning through community service

We consider community service to be one of the foundations of our children’s education. For this reason, the Service Learning Program at PASB encourages students to propose and implement projects which benefit the community, engage other students and promote learning through effective collaboration with society.

Our students actively participate in a variety of social impact projects, establishing partnerships with social organizations and local, national, and international institutions.

These projects are designed and implemented entirely by the students, and enable them to explore their capacity of transforming realities. Starting with an idea, their projects develop an enriching scope, both for the benefited institutions and for our students, preparing them to become responsible global citizens, who understand different cultures, care about social and environmental issues, and have a well-established sense of ethics, equity, and justice.

This program reflects PASB’s philosophy and values, while also being an experience that allows our students to gain the necessary knowledge to lead more complex projects in the future.

PASB’s community service is open to participation by all school levels.

Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS)

CAS is part of the IB Diploma Programme and aims to balance the development of academic and personal abilities through High School, on the basis of the IB student profile.

CAS activities frequently take place outside the classroom and include creative activities such as visual and dramatic arts, music, sports, and community service, focusing on creating young leaders who have a sense of solidarity and are engaged in human challenges.

The projects developed on CAS are a necessary requirement for obtaining the IB Diploma and include activities that benefit orphanages, care homes, low-income neighborhoods, homeless people, sport education for children, and art projects.
