Elementary School

Our Elementary School program encompasses Year 1 through Year 5. It is based on the American Common-Core Curriculum together with the Primary Years Program (PYP).

When children join PASB during this phase, we do our best to ensure that they are placed in the most appropriate year levels and classes, after careful consideration of their school trajectory.

Our academic program also includes Portuguese or a Portuguese Language Learners (PLL) program for speakers of other languages, as well as Brazilian Social Studies, Physical Education, Arts, Music, and of course our Library.

The International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP)

The IB Primary Years Programme (IB PYP) is a curriculum framework that develops students’ academic, social and emotional well-being, with a focus on an international mindset and strong personal values. The PYP aims to develop independent learning skills, encouraging each student to take responsibility for their learning journey.
