Library Mission Statement and Objectives

The library’s mission is to educate world citizens who use information effectively, who are critical and have a passion for literature. Supporting the school’s mission to create lifelong learners and effective communicators who critically consider and think creatively, the library’s multimedia center enables students to inquire, reach conclusions, and create new knowledge.

Community members also learn to actively and ethically use and disseminate information and ideas. A love of learning for personal, academic, and professional development is also fostered.

To achieve this mission, the library will use the following standards for the 21st Century learner:

1. Question, think critically, and acquire knowledge.
2. Come to their own conclusions, make informed decisions, apply old knowledge to new situations, and create new knowledge.
3. Share knowledge and participate ethically and productively as members of our democratic society.
4. Seek personal and aesthetic growth (as stated by the American Association of School Librarians)
